A life-size AI avatar keynote for Hitachi’s event in New Delhi

Summary

Lorena Dellagiovanna, Senior Vice President and Executive Officer at Hitachi, Ltd., needed to address Hitachi’s company event in New Delhi. Instead of flying in, she was recreated as a life-size AI avatar that delivered her approved address on the Delhi stage inside a HoloBox.

We built the avatar, produced the keynote content and ran the show on the day. The address played to a full room from start to finish, and no flights were booked.

The brief: three problems for one keynote

The keynote needed the executive, not a slide deck

The event needed her presence: her face, her voice and her gestures, at full height in front of the audience.

Her calendar was the constraint

Tokyo to Delhi and back for one address takes most of a working week out of a senior executive’s schedule. The event date was fixed.

The message had to be exact

The keynote carried an approved script. It had to be delivered word for word, in front of the whole company, with no second take.

What we built

A HoloBox shows a person inside an 86-inch 4K transparent LCD enclosure at true human scale. Each unit pairs a 4K, high-transmission transparent panel with its own operating system and control app. Nobody wears anything, the lights stay up, and everyone in the hall sees the same figure at once.

How the AI avatar works

We create a digital likeness of the speaker, with her appearance, voice and gestures, and pair it with the approved script. The avatar plays inside the HoloBox at full human height, so it delivers the same message identically, session after session.

The speaker gives an afternoon to the capture instead of a week to travel. The same avatar can then deliver the keynote at any office, in any city: no flights, no calendar clashes, no off-script moments.

How it worked on the day

An event hire like this is planned around the date, with avatar production, a content review and a rehearsal at the venue. On the day, the AI avatar delivered the address life-size on the New Delhi stage to a full room. Our operator managed the show from a control laptop beside the unit.

Delegates also met the HoloBox up close in the lobby area of the event.

Results

• The executive gave an afternoon to the capture instead of the working week a round trip from Tokyo to Delhi would take.
• No flights were booked.
• The audience saw her at full height on stage, not on a projector screen.
• The approved message was delivered word for word, and the same avatar can give it again at every office.
