Summary

Edgetech makes air handling units (AHUs) for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings across India. At ACREX India 2026 it was the event’s Next Gen Air Solutions Partner.

For its booth we built four connected experiences: a 3D printed miniature of the AHU, an AR layer that shows what is inside it, a touch-screen product kiosk and a looping 3D animated film.

The brief: explain a large, technical product in a few minutes

About Edgetech

Edgetech focuses on energy efficiency, indoor air quality and custom-engineered HVAC systems.

About ACREX India 2026

ACREX India, organised by ISHRAE, is the flagship event of the HVAC, refrigeration and building services industry. The 2026 edition, its 25th, filled Halls 2, 3 and 6 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, for three days, with engineers, consultants and business leaders from many countries.

The challenge

AHUs are large, technical products, and bringing a full-size unit to a booth is impractical. Printed datasheets and static visuals do little in a hall of hundreds of exhibitors. The real problem was understanding, not just visibility.

The question was how to explain an AHU’s internal engineering, product variants, installation logic and performance to a visitor with three minutes at the booth and ten other booths to visit.

What we built

Four experiences, each with a specific job in the visitor journey.

A 3D printed miniature of the AHU

A precisely scaled miniature of Edgetech’s AHU gave visitors something physical to see, pick up and look at closely. In a hall full of flat screens and printed panels, it gave visitors a reason to stop.

AR on the 3D model

Visitors pointed a device at the printed model to open an AR layer showing internal components, airflow paths and system details. They could see inside the machine without opening it.

A touch-screen product kiosk

The kiosk let visitors browse Edgetech’s range by specification, variant, use case and application at their own pace, without waiting for a salesperson.

A 3D animated film

A looping 3D animation showed the AHU’s installation scenarios, internal mechanics and performance advantages. Visitors passing the booth could follow the core story without stopping.

How it worked on the day

The four elements worked as one layered journey, so the booth served every type of visitor, from the casual passer-by to the curious engineer and the procurement decision-maker:

  • The film ran all the time, telling passers-by what Edgetech builds and why it matters.
  • The 3D printed model drew people in to the booth.
  • The AR layer gave curious visitors the deeper technical story on demand.
  • The kiosk let technical evaluators research products on their own, while the sales team focused on qualified conversations.

Results

  • Shown for all three days of ACREX 2026.
  • A large AHU was explained in full without bringing one to the show.
