LabXR: Bridging Education and Technology

LabXR is an educational application leveraging Mixed Reality Technology (MR) for school and college students. This case study highlights how LabXR has transformed education, merging traditional learning with cutting-edge technology. The app provides a hands-on experience beyond textbooks, enabling students to explore the latest technology in an educational context. LabXR functions as a Virtual Laboratory utilizing advanced mixed reality technology, targeting students from Primary to Higher Secondary schools and Colleges. It covers science concepts and laboratory experiments from syllabuses such as ICSE, CBSE, NEP, and State syllabi, catering to students of all ages.

The client's primary requirement was for the application to accurately simulate various laboratory functionalities linked to holograms, ensuring an effective learning experience. This posed a significant challenge as the platform needed to be precise and reliable for educational purposes.

To address this challenge, we developed the LabXR platform using cutting-edge mixed reality technology to ensure accurate holographic behavior. Additionally, we created training modules to facilitate effective use by students and teachers. The development of LabXR involved utilizing Unity 3D, Visual Studio Community 2022, and HoloLens 2 application development. The platform was designed for multiple platforms, including Android, iOS, and Oculus Quest 2 application development.

The team's responsibilities included UI-UX design and integration, 3D modeling and design, mixed reality development, training module development, and quality analysis. LabXR has achieved significant success, providing students with an innovative educational experience. It has been widely adopted by educational institutions, receiving positive feedback from both students and teachers. LabXR has successfully bridged the gap between education and technology, offering a novel approach to learning.
