Groove Jones, in partnership with HLK Agency and Bayer CropScience Group, developed an innovative augmented reality (AR) experience toshowcase the resilience of Preceon™ Smart Corn System short-stature cornhybrids compared to traditional corn in high winds. The AR experience aimed toengage users and demonstrate the compelling benefits of Preceon™ in a visuallycaptivating manner.
The AR experience allows users to witness the growth ofshort-stature and regular-stature corn before their eyes, pausing at key stagesto highlight Preceon™'s clear advantages. At 30 inches, the user sees howPreceon™ provides additional spraying access, and at full height, the systemshowcases how Preceon™ performs against natural elements.
The project's main objectives were to present Preceon™'sadvantages engagingly, provide an intuitive AR experience, and integratelifelike 3D representations of corn at various growth stages in diverse weatherconditions. Short-stature corn hybrids offer robust protection against theelements and greater application flexibility compared to traditional cornheights.
In the AR experience, users activate the wind test bytapping a button, which turns on their camera. A FieldView logo appears as anAR overlay, generating a heat map on the floor surface to show where the ARcorn will grow. Spots illuminate to indicate ideal seeding locations and awindow overlay explains the collaborative effort between Bayer agronomists andusers in determining optimal seeding rates. Users can then select wind speedsof 30, 60, and 90 MPH to see the impact on each corn group. As the windincreases, users observe the damaging effects on traditional corn stalks, whilethe short-stature corn hybrid remains protected due to its height. After the experience, users can launch a web page featuringa Bayer video, thanking inaugural commercial Preceon™ growers.
